Model #14c Now Available in Nylon Black
If concealment needs are a high priority for your design criteria, we are now offering Model #14c in a black color option for plastic body material Nylon 6.
Nylon 6 is a great body material choice when applications require the following:

Air/gas flow

Slightly higher heat resistance ranging from 200-250° F
-
Black color option for discretion
This body material is not recommended for liquid applications because it tends to swell over time. If your application operates at a temperature range over 180° F, Nylon 6 is an ideal option because it works well up to 250° F.
Model #14c is tapered at the end, which means it is molded into a more angular flange allowing for lower visibility within a device. Opening pressure ranges for Model #14c range from 0.11 to 17 PSI with o-rings available in Buna-N, Ethylene-Propylene, Viton®, and Silicone. Additional body materials and color-coding options are also available for this particular valve model.
Primarily used for pressure relief, all of our flanged valves allow customers to easily insert them into a variety of devices ranging from battery packs to tanks. These valves can also be placed into any material depending on the requirements of your application. To create the best solution for your design criteria, we need to know about all liquids/gasses you are using including glues and pressure requirements in order to determine compatibility with plastic body material, o-rings, and spring pressure. Featured Product: #J04 Female Connector
Model #J04 is a Female Connector designed to fit 3/8" tubing x 1/2" NPT. Inserted inside our entire product line of JACO Smart Fittings is our own Model #132 Side Seal Valve. The presence of an accurate, reliable check valve inside the JACO fitting ensures precise flow control at a specific opening pressure ranging between 0.07 and 20 PSI.

Check Valve Operation -
Stage 4: Fully Open
 Regulated Pressure Occurs
During stage 4, the pressure moves fluid through the valve with such velocity that the poppet travels to its limit. At this point, the valve has achieved a FULLY OPEN state. Once the valve is fully open, more flow can still be achieved, but at a diminishing return because the poppet cannot travel any further.
For customers who want to maintain a level of pressure in applications, being aware of this phenomenon is important. Once fully open is reached, a large pressure increase will be required to marginally raise the flow. That is why it is always good to make sure the valve you order has sufficient flow at your operating pressures. There are no operational penalties for a larger valve other than your space constraints.
Note: The minimum pressure, at which flow is possible, will surprisingly occur at a pressure lower than the initial opening pressure. This happens because more pressure is required to overcome stiction, which can occur if a valve is inactive and sits for a long period of time. However, we have found that by applying a parylene coating to o-rings, they are able to remain idle longer without the risk of an elevated opening pressure. Smart Products tests every series of valves to establish its performance in liquid and gas applications beginning with the OPENING, progressing through OPEN or minimum regulated pressure (SSRP), and ending with RESEALING.
