In-Line Cartridge Check Valves

With an external o-ring, Series 100 Cartridge Side Seal Valves are especially beneficial to hold in-line valves in place and provide an extra barrier against leaks.  Adhesives are also not necessary due to the sealing capabilities of the outside o-ring.  This family of valves includes the following (click to view specs for each valve):

Models #152, #154, and #191 are new and allow up to five times more flow with air or water versus Models #122 and #132.  This feature gives more options for customers who need this type of mounting capability.

Smart Products is capable of tailoring all valves by plastic body material, o-rings, and spring pressure to create the perfect valve for your application.  To view our entire line of valves, visit us online at http://www.smartproducts.com/check_valves.php.  Questions? PVDF (Kynar®)

A Tough, Durable Plastic

PVDF (Polyvinylidene Fluoride) also known as Kynar® is a great choice for applications requiring the highest purity, strength, and resistance to solvents, acids, bases, and heat, as well as smoke generation in the event of a fire.

For devices dealing with ozone, this plastic is the number one option.  And, it is also popular in the automotive, industrial, and chemical processing markets because of:

  • Good thermal stability
  • High tensile strength
  • High impact resistance
  • Excellent UV resistance
  • Extremely high purity
  • Overall excellent corrosion and chemical resistance
  • Performs up to 300°F (149°C)
  • Easily fabricated into finished parts

Smart Products offers PVDF in a variety of our valves throughout every series.  It is shown in Model #502/502, Model #101, and Model #204.  For questions about creating valves in PVDF for your specific design criteria, call us at (800) 338-0404.

Cathy Jernigan, Director of Sales & Marketing, Competes in Morgan Hill Marathon

Smart Products Director of Sales & Marketing Cathy Jernigan recently ran in the Morgan Hill Marathon.  With a finish time of 3:52:07, Jernigan placed 43rd overall, 11th for women, and 2nd in her age division out of the 984 participants.

“I was shocked at my finish time. My goal was to finish in four hours, and I was really pleased with my time.  A lot of mental preparation goes into training for a race.  I find running an excellent stress reliever and competing allows me to set goals and work towards them,” says Jernigan.

“Running is a discipline – it is all about setting goals and working to complete them.  This discipline carries over into my job because I try to do the same thing for the company.”

The Morgan Hill Marathon was Jernigan’s fourth marathon, and she is pictured at mile post #17 going uphill.  She has previously competed in the Sacramento Marathon in 2007, the Boston Marathon in 2008, and the Big Sur Marathon in 2009.
