How high can our springs actually go? The answer could be critical to your future applications. We’re putting our springs under pressure – literally – by testing their highest opening pressure.
Our engineers are currently experimenting with a variety of springs made out of stainless steel (grade 316) to measure their levels of pressure.
"While creating an exclusive design for a customer, we discovered that it's theoretically possible to go much higher with our springs," says Smart Products CEO Mark Jernigan. The process will be to design each series of springs with the highest possible opening pressure, while trying to maintain an acceptable equilibrium between flow, stress, and material. If successful, we may be able to manufacture any spring under that value all the way down to our lower limit."
In this case, the right amount of pressure could be the highest. In order to offer a wider range of solutions for your check valve needs, we are investigating the highest pressures the springs can withstand.
Jernigan continues to add, “I believe we will have the most success with our springs designed to complement our smaller valves to include most of our specialty 100 series and 200 series valves. There is also the possibility of success with the 140, 150, and 160 valve."
Our end goal is to match a customer's design requirements with a custom-built valve that is a great fit and has the right amount of flow with the right amount of pressure.
